A squad is a small group of soldiers. Several squads can be joined to form a platoon.
Various agencies in the galaxy used squads. The Starfleet Ground Forces and Starfleet Marine Corps had squads that ranged from 3 to 12 individuals commanded by an ensign and second lieutenant respectively.[1]
The Dominion's squads were based around 3 Jem'Hadar.[1]
